Reason #1: You’re on a diet
If there’s one thing history has proven repeatedly it’s that dieting doesn’t work.
Whether you reduce portions, use “plans” with special foods, count calories or points, or drink shakes, any weight you lose will come rolling back on once you eat your “old way” again.
The fix: Your “diet” has to instead be a lifestyle of properly nourishing your body with wholesome real foods. (The Great Taste No Pain plan can help guide you and give you delicious recipes to enjoy.)
Reason #2: You don’t get enough sleep
Lacking sleep leads to daytime fatigue, which makes it likely that you will be visiting the coffee bar or vending machine for a pick me up.
While those quick fixes do provide an eye-opening sugar rush, it will be quickly followed-up with a sugar crash which will leave you craving more.
Plus remember what the sugar will be doing to your backside.
The fix: Make sure to get decent sleep each night—the average person needs between seven and nine hours. Get off of Facebook or turn off Netflix and get to bed.
Reason #3: You drink soda
Nothing will destroy your weight loss efforts faster than soda.
Regular soda is loaded with high fructose corn syrup (made with GMO corn) which creates more blubber than table sugar and stresses your liver to boot.
Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners that trick your brain into thinking calories are soon to follow. What your brains wants, it will get—in this case by making you hungry.
The fix: Stay away from soda, period. Drink water instead. If you need a “fizz fix” try club soda with a splash of fresh lemon or lime juice.
Reason #4: Your thyroid is pooped
If your thyroid is sluggish, your scale number will be forever frozen.
The fix: See your doctor and have your thyroid checked. Be sure he does a full battery of tests including a TRH Stimulation test. If you’re low, ask about bio-identical hormone options like Nature-Throid.
Reason #5: The couch and you are BFFs
When it comes to taking off weight and keeping it off, regular exercise is essential.
The fix: Make exercise enjoyable so you’ll stick to it. Get an exercise buddy, pick an activity you like, join a class, get an exercise DVD—whatever works for you. Just get your doctor’s OK and get moving.
Reason #6: You’re stressed
Elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol causes you to stress eat, especially starchy, sugary carbs.
The fix: Find ways to de-stress. Take a walk, meditate, do yoga, try acupuncture, practice deep breathing, pray, take up a hobby, seek counseling…whatever helps, just do it.
Reason #7: You’re on medications
One of the most common side effects of many medications is weight gain.
These include steroids, antidepressants, antipsychotics, diabetes drugs, high blood pressure drugs and acid reducers.
The fix: Talk to your doctor about alternatives. In many cases there may be a less strong medication or a natural alternative that won’t pack the pounds on you.
Plus if you eat healthier and get regular exercise, chances are good that you may not need as much medication!
Reason #8: You’re a carb-o-holic
Starchy carbs like bread, pasta, bagels, cookies, chips and crackers turn to sugar upon digestion…and you know what that means.
Plus sugar feeds harmful yeasts in your gut, and when they start to proliferate down there, they can actually trigger cravings for more carbs!
The fix: Choose vegetables and occasional whole grains for your carbs. Take a high quality multi-strain probiotic like Super Shield to help support a healthier intestinal flora balance and fight harmful yeasts.
Reason #9: You’re on fire with inflammation
Inflammation is a significant factor behind most chronic diseases and illnesses, including overweight and obesity.
When your body is in a state of inflammation, it can’t use nutrients like it should (which in turn can drive up your hunger level).
Plus it can impair your body’s ability to lose fat and build muscle, and it can make exercising extremely uncomfortable.
The fix: Fight inflammation with Nature’s anti-inflammatory–Omega-3 essential fatty acids. A top-notch, pure fish oil formula like VitalMega-3 can help make sure you have enough of this crucial nutrient.
Reason #10: You have poor enzyme output
Your ability to lose weight depends on sound digestion to get the nutrients you need and properly eliminate wastes…but if you’re running short on stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes or bile from the liver, your digestion (and weight loss efforts) could be suffering.
The fix: If enzymes are an issue for you, an enzyme formula like Digestizol Max can pinch-hit where you may be lacking and help support sound digestion.
When you take a look and see what might be stalling your weight loss efforts and do something about it, you can finally achieve the success and slender body you deserve!
